Jing Tea’s Single Origin Organic Matcha: Best Tasting in The Europe ?

Matcha green tea powder has already become a trending product in the Western world. Also this is the only green tea which goes well with milk. Since this is a fine powder almost all the tea can be consumed. So it has got few times more antioxidants than regular green tea. These antioxidants are responsible for minimizing the effect of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer etc.

Today, the news is about Jing Tea’s single origin organic matcha from “The Island of Green Tea”, Japan. This tea powder is produced in Kirishima, Kagoshima, in the south of Kyūshū island. The area – at an altitude of 450m – is overlooked by Sakurajima: an active volcano which periodically covers the area in white ash, making the terror superbly fertile and creating mineral rich soils that nurture unique flavour profiles in the tea bushes. Unlike other matcha teas, which are often blended, Jing Tea’s Organic Ceremonial Grade is a pure expression of a single cultivar (‘Okumidori’) with exceptional character: high floral notes, and deep, vegetal umami.

Small batches of leaves are stone-milled to order using the traditional ‘Mikage’ method and sealed into airtight packaging for optimal flavour.

Matcha shaker introduced by the company is ideal for convenience seekers and also for those who are not mastered with making this wonderful tea. Traditional bamboo “Chasen” whisk is also available for purchase.

The extraction of toxic compounds is an issue due to powdered nature of this tea. Therefore it’s always wise to source organically grown green tea powder ideally from Japan. Since China belongs to a continent, there is a possibility to have bit more toxic compounds than Japanese matcha. But Hangzhou area in China produces some good tasting green tea powder. Availability of few times more caffeine than both tea and coffee is also a consideration. Therefore better not to exceed 1 cup per day. Drinkers are also advised to have this tea 6 hours prior to go to bed.
