Tea is a way of life in UK. Following Portuguese princess Catherine’s introduction of tea in 1660 AD, this wonderful beverage eventually became the nation’s favorite. Ultimately, tea had the honour of being the national beverage in England. With no doubt, tea provided the refreshment, stimulation, relaxation and good health for Brits to build up a massive empire. Currently, coffee has been emerged as a hot beverage. But it’s a surprise to hear that a tea shop has won an award for the “Best Coffee Shop”. As Grantham Journal had reported, Leadenham Tea House has won a the title for “Coffee shop of the Year” for Central England with the UK Prestige Awards. Despite being closed due to COVID 19 virus since March 2020.

This village Teahouse, owned by two ladies namely, Katie Mace and Kirsty Kershaw. On October 28, the owners found out that they have won this prestigious award. They are also working with Small Business Saturday UK for the fourth year since being selected as a Small Business Saturday, the top 100 small businesses in the UK.

Katie and Kirstry are working with Leadenham tea house for the second year running to host the Leadenham Christmas market in late November

There will be a business bus tour is visiting Nottingham on November 13, a more virtual event this year.

These ladies will be joining them in an online interview via Facebook to share their interesting business story.

The pair mentioned: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the local people and customers that support our small business. Let’s continue to shop small this Christmas.”

The Tea House is located within Leadenham Post Office, the Teahouse is a cosy space, with just eight tables within the retail area.

If you are near by Leadenham, it’s really worth planing a visit to this wonderful place after releasing travel restrictions. But still please make sure to follow all the precautionary measures to safe guard your self from COVID 19 Virus.
