Bigelow Tea Opened A New Warehouse To Expand Storage & Distribution
Even though USA is a coffee drinking nation, there were legends like Late Steven Smith, the founder of Tazo tea company, co-founder of Stash Tea Company and Late David Walker, the founder of Walker Tea LLC who foresaw the trend for specialty tea in the US. Bigelow Tea is also a company which has been serving good teas to USA tea lovers for almost 75 years. As Tea & Coffee Trade Journal had reported, Bigelow Tea, specialty tea market leader in USA, held a ribbon cutting ceremony on 21 December to officially open its new warehouse location in Orange, Connecticut.
This is a 41,600 square foot warehouse. The new facility will be utilized to expand the company’s storage and distribution capacity.
In addition to The president of Bigelow Tea, Cindi Bigelow, selectman Zeoli and commissioner Lehman, other distinguished guests in attendance at the ribbon cutting included lieutenant governor Susan Bysiewicz, state senator James Maroney, state representatives Kathy Kennedy and Charles Ferraro, state representative elect Mary Welander, and Orange Chamber of Commerce president Ted Novicki.
Cindi Bigelow, was honoured with the National Workplace Lifetime Achievement Award from Character.org for inspiring people to develop good character and for her company’s sustainability efforts, which assist protect the environment. She has got a BSc degree from Boston College and an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. She has received honorary doctorates from Johnson & Wales University, the University of New Haven and Fairfield University. She often speaks to students and industry leaders on business ethics and career development.
As a Certified B Corporation, Bigelow Tea’s production process aims to conserve energy and water, waste reduction efforts, and land preservation and protection efforts.
