Ceylon Tea Shone @ Fine Food Australia

Ceylon Tea coming from the resplendent island nation, Sri Lanka is recognized for her well balanced tasting profile by tea connoisseurs all over the globe. As Sri Lanka Tea Board had reported, The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Sydney in collaboration and coordination with the Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) and the Coconut Development Authority (CDA) organised Sri Lankan Pavilion at the Fine Food Australia from 9 to 12 September at the International Convention Centre, Sydney.

As Daily FT had further reported, four Ceylon Tea exporters were exhibiting under the Tea Board Pavilion. In addition, eight Sri Lankan exporters were independently representing food sectors participated and promoted Sri Lankan value added food products at Find Food Australia 2019.

During Fine Food Australia, the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Sydney organised a business breakfast networking meeting for the Sri Lankan exporters inviting Australian food importers and distributors.

a. According to a claim made by the International Standard Organization (ISO), This special tea is the Cleanest Tea origin in the world considering pesticide residues. c. Even though Sri Lanka is a small Island which is also know as “The Pearl of Indian Ocean”, “Asia’s Sweet Heart” and “The Wonder of Asia”, the diversity (Regional difference) of Ceylon Tea is quite amazing. One would enjoy a light, fragrant Nuwara-Eliya Tea from the highest mountain peak with Citrus notes while another is enjoying a strong, full bodied Ruhuna Tea from Ruhuna region situated in the down south.

d. Sensory-wise, Ceylon Tea has got a well-balanced taste with ideal strength, flavor and aroma for a perfect cup of tea.

e. Although hand shears and mechanical tea harvesters are used pluck at very few tea fields, Sri Lankan tea is plucked exclusively by human hand.
