Russians love their cuppa and they are so passionate on their favourite beverage, “Tea”. Tea is a way of life in Russia. Meantime, Ceylon Tea coming from the resplendent island nation, Sri Lanka is recognized for her well balanced tasting profile by tea connoisseurs all over the globe. As Sri Lanka Tea Board had reported, Tea Promotion Unit (TPU) of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Tea Board attended at Peterfood 2023 International Exhibition in St.Petersbuburg, Russia from 14th -16th November 2023
Specialty of Ceylon Tea
a. According to a claim made by the International Standard Organization (ISO), Ceylon tea is the Cleanest Tea origin in the world considering pesticide residues. Sri Lankan authorities have imposed strict regulations on agro-chemical usage in order to meet Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) of European Union (EU) and Japan.

Even though Sri Lanka is a small Island which is also know as “The Pearl of Indian Ocean”, “Asia’s Sweet Heart” and “The Wonder of Asia”, the diversity (Regional difference) of Ceylon Tea is quite amazing. One would enjoy a light, fragrant Nuwara-Eliya Tea from the highest mountain peak with Citrus notes while another is enjoying a strong, full bodied Ruhuna Tea from Ruhuna region situated in the down south.
