Extract Coffee Roasters Launches Extract Tea
Tea is the most consumed beverage after water. This wonderful beverage donated refreshment, good health, relaxation, stimulation for nearly 5000 years. Coffee is a beverage discovered by a goat header in Ethiopia in 800 AD. In modern days, these 2 beverages are rivalries competing for the World’s “Cup”. As Tea & Coffee Trade Journal had reported, Bristol-based Extract Coffee Roasters has introduced their first full range of sustainably sourced and packaged speciality teas. Just like their single-estate Darjeeling from The Arya Tea Garden. A bio-organic, award winning farm and one of the oldest tea gardens in India. The Rutsiro Tea Garden in Rwanda is a wholly organic tea garden which provides workers and their dependents with healthcare and free childcare for their dependents.
Each tea is perfectly crafted and blended by some of the best tea-smiths in the UK. Organic herbalists championing and tea experts who cut their teeth in the world of fine dining and five star hotels. Then lovingly packed by hand as loose leaf or biodegradable pyramid bags.
Extract Tea comes in eleven core lines and one seasonal line. Teas & Tisanes / Herbal infusions are available as loose leaf and biodegradable string and tag pyramid bags.
Duncan Kendall, Extract Coffee Roasters’ managing director, commented: “we wanted to supply our customers with a range of teas with the same passion, artisan craftsmanship, sustainable credentials and community impact which we bring to coffee.
“After a long search it became clear that, unlike coffee, there is a real lack of story and transparency within tea. So we decided to create our own in order to take control of our supply chain and celebrate the farmer’s stories of individual estates and cooperatives.”
The company have reduced packaging in the tea’s supply chain by over 80% and new pouch sizes mean 52% less packaging in cafes and restaurants. The Extract team has also developed an exclusive tea training programme for its customers.
