First Time in History, Sri Lanka Tea Board Organized An Exhibition In Belgium

Ceylon Tea coming from the resplendent island nation, Sri Lanka is recognized for her well balanced tasting profile by tea connoisseurs all over the globe. Sri Lanka Tea Board is the government body which is responsible for international promotion of Pure Ceylon Tea. The Sri Lanka Tea Board participated at the HORECA Expo 2019 in Ghent, Belgium, from 17th to 21st November 2019. 

The Sri Lanka Mission in Brussels, Belgium facilitated this participation. The pavilion was declared opened by H. E. Grace Asirwatham; Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Belgium, the European Union and Luxembourg.

The Embassy had also organized business matchmaking meetings for Sri Lankan participants at the Exhibition to expand their contacts and find new buyers for Ceylon tea. This was the first time Sri Lanka has participated at an expo in Belgium to promote Ceylon tea.

Belgium has imported 13 million kgs of tea in 2018 including intra-EU trade, of which Sri Lanka exported 3.6 million kgs. Sri Lanka is the largest black tea exporter to this EU nation. In addition to black tea, flavoured tea, green tea, herbal tea, gift tea and tea syrup were also promoted at the Ceylon tea pavilion, with tea-tasting opportunities provided for potential buyers.

Simply speaking, Pure Ceylon Tea is a Pure Enhancement in A Cup !
