International Tea Day (May 21) Sofa Summit Schedule Released, Watch Live on Youtube

Since it’s discovery by the Chinese emperor Shen Nong way back in 2732 BC, tea was refreshing the man kind for generations. This 5000 year old drink eventually became the most popular beverage in the world after water due to many functional and health benefits. In a time when the whole world is battling hard against COVID 19 epidemic, International Tea Day (21 May) Sofa Summit is going Live on YouTube on 21st of May 2021. For the second consecutive year, tea lovers are going to celebrate International Tea Day on May 21, 2021, and the Canadian tea industry will be joining in the celebration with SofaSummit.

Hosted by the Tea & Herbal Association of Canada, this virtual event features a full day of interviews with tea experts around the world and will be streamed live on their YouTube channel for anyone to join.

Early this year, The United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 74/241 declaring May 21st  ‘INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY‘. Their mission is to elevate tea to be celebrated around the globe. The resolution acknowledges the “… urgent need to raise public awareness of the importance of tea for rural development and sustainable livelihoods and to improve the tea value chain to contribute to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

Tea lovers from anywhere around the world can join the Tea & Herbal Association of Canada’s Sofa Summit on May 21, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, for a full day of interviews with tea experts and professionals around the globe. This virtual event is for anyone who wants to learn more about the 5,000-year-old refreshing, healthy beverage.
