Jing Tea’s First Spring Tea Launch in 2020, Baojing Gold !

Tea is a way of life in England. Following Portuguese princess Catherine’s introduction of tea to England in 1660 AD, Brits started loving this refreshing, stimulating, calming and healthy beverage. Eventually tea became the national beverage in England. With no doubt, tea provided the refreshment, stimulation, relaxation and good health for Brits to build up a massive empire. Anyway, modern day tea drinkers have started to pay more attention on different tea types, sustainability and health before sipping their favorite cuppa. Jing Tea is one of the reputed specialty tea retailers in UK. As Tea & Coffee Trade Journal had reported, London-based fine tea producer, Jing Tea, has launched their first single garden spring 2020 tea, Baojing Gold. In a time when spring tea crop / production and exports have been affected by COVID 19, this is a great news for specialty tea lovers.

Baojing Gold is an exceptional single garden, spring green tea, picked pre Qingming (Qingming: Tomb-Sweeping Day in China) on the 19th March 2020. Delicately crafted, it captures the purest essence of the tenderest buds and leaves with graceful umami and meadow-sweetness.

This new hand-dried green tea is expertly crafted by tea master Mr Long in his garden using organic principles. It is a tea of long heritage, famed as a tea gifted to the emperor since the 16th century. Selected from Ludong Mountain, sacred to the local Miao people, This wonderful tea is named after its place of origin, Baojing County in Hunan province, and the gold leafed cultivar / jat from which it is traditionally made. Baojing is famous for its gold or yellow leaved cultivar that imparts a higher level of amino acids, providing the umami character to the tea. The climate in Western Hunan is subtropical and tea is grown in hilly terrain.

Early spring teas are the first productions, sometimes known as “first flush” of the new season and are made from the delicate buds that the bushes produce after their winter dormancy.

Tea experts of Jing Tea company usually travel throughout Asia to discover good quality single garden teas with a rich sensory profile. The brand’s high quality, single garden teas are chosen by international 5* hotels including The Langham, The Berkeley, The Savoy, Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental, as well as chefs and restaurants with over 110 Michelin stars between them.

Baojing Gold is sold exclusively on Jing Tea’s website as a single SKU 50g bag of loose leaf, priced at £44. Visit: jingtea.com/shop/baojing-gold.
