Katie Piper Spreads Clipper Teas’ Fair-Trade Fortnight message

Tea is a way of life in Britain. Following Portuguese princess Catherine’s introduction of tea in 1662 AD, this wonderful beverage eventually became the nation’s favorite beverage. Ultimately, tea had the honor of being the national beverage in England. With no doubt, tea provided the refreshment, stimulation, relaxation and good health for Brits to build up a massive empire. Even Brits are the ones who commercialized & planted tea in nations like Sri Lanka (Ceylon), India, Kenya etc. Among so many British tea brands, Clipper Tea is highly recognized since it’s the larest Fair-Trade (FLO) tea brand in the world. As Wessanen UK had reported, Clipper Teas has enlisted support from high-profile activist and television presenter, Katie Piper, to highlight the positive impact of ethical tea production in support of Fair-trade Fortnight.

Fair-trade Fortnight runs from Monday 24 February – Sunday 8 March 2020. Women play a vital role in tea production, primarily as pluckers and make up a core part of the team at the Clipper tea estates in India. Fair-trade premiums help them with education and healthcare for their families, training and learning programmes. Fair-trade premiums can also be used to help provide creches for their kids when they’re at work.
