Newfoundland Has More Tea Drinkers Than Other Atlantic Provinces in Canada
Even though North American hot drink market is dominated by coffee, tea is emerging thanks to health and wellness trend especially among the younger generation. Canadians love their cuppa. No exception during this pandemic situation as well. Tea and Herbal Association of Canada are doing a great job to educate tea lovers / professionals on this wonderful beverage by conducting tea sommelier courses. As VOCM Local News Now had reported, consumers in Newfoundland and Labrador prefer tea than do their counterparts in Atlantic Canada. Those are the findings of a recent survey conducted by Narrative Research. While the majority of those in all four Atlantic provinces prefer coffee over tea, the highest number of people who prefer tea—34%—is in Newfoundland province.
CEO of Narrative Research, Margaret Brigley, says the survey also offered a bit of insight into who those tea-drinkers are.
She says women are slightly more likely to prefer tea, and those over the age of 55 are more likely to prefer tea over coffee. She says the 18 to 30 age group has a much stronger preference for coffee.
