Tea Products Launched for Chinese New Year 2019

China is the birth place of tea and there are hundreds of tea varieties available all over this massive country. Traditional tea consumption is still very prominent even in the modern era. But following westernizing trend, Chinese younger generation has started to experience other origin teas and innovative tea based beverages even though those are not so healthy as pure tea.

HEYTEA

If you have been to China, you will certainly know HEYTEA (喜茶), which is a Chinese local tea brand that launched several successful viral campaigns in 2017-2018. Their sales revenue topped RMB$1 billion in 2017 and with marketing strategies mainly relying on word of mouth among consumers. At some outlets a consumer has to wait for about 45 minutes to reach the counter due to long queues. Their cheese tea became a hit.

For Chinese New Year 2019 in Hong Kong, the company launched a red gift box including one Heytea branded brooch, a hoodie, a beverage coupon, a phone case, and more!  The box also promised to include four red pockets and a custom Mahjong set!

For Heytea stores in Hong Kong, they launched a new limited edition “Very Cherry Cheezo” flavored drink and gave out a limited amount of red pockets for its customers.

STARBUCKS

As normal, Starbucks’ kept up with its tradition of offering seasonal beverages for the Chinese New Year 2019. For this new year, they launched a special collection of cup and mug sets for the big festival in different countries.

For 2019 Chinese New Year in China, unexceptionally, Starbucks also used the definitive RED colour and cartoon piglets as the motif for their new collection. While for Starbucks in Hong Kong, a new drink named the “Chestnut Black Tea Latte” was launched to celebrate festive season.
