The Ceylon Tea Global Campaign Publicity Launch in Ukraine

Ceylon Tea produced in the resplendent island nation Sri Lanka is recognized for her well balanced tasting profile by tea connoisseurs all over the globe. Tea is the 4th largest GDP contributor of this pretty island nation following expatriates, Apparel and tourism. Ten percent of Sri Lankan population is involved directly or indirectly in tea industry. So tea plays a vital role in Sri Lankan economy. By the meantime, As Sri Lanka Tea Board had reported, The historical groundbreaking take – off of the Ceylon Tea Global Promotion Campaign in Moscow, Russia was closely followed by a ceremonial launch of Kyiv, Ukraine on 23rd October 2019 at the prestigious Fairmont Grand Hotel !

A well-attended media conference with representations from the prominent press and radio, popular magazines and TV broadcasting as well as online channels from Ukraine and International media graced the occasion to uplift the premium image of Pure Ceylon Tea. The grand finale was a Ceylon Tea Gala Evening which was arranged immediately after the Media Conference at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Atrium Ballroom in Kyiv. A large gathering of importers, buyers, distributors, packers, agents of tea in Ukraine patronized the launch along with members of the Sri Lanka tea trade and state officials. The programme would move to the Far Eastern markets like Japan & China during the First Half of the New Year 2020.The campaign is envisaged to inject tremendous awareness and enthusiasm for Ceylon Tea among the end consumers, particularly focused on the millennial and the young adults.

During the First Round, the other nations scheduled to commence the program are Germany as well as China & Japan. The balance 07 countries (Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, UAE, USA, Chile and Australia) will be covered during the year 2020. This is a Rs.4.5 billion (roughly USD 25 million) worth campaign targeting key & emerging markets for Ceylon Tea.

In March 2018, Sri Lanka Tea Board signed an agreement with Dentsu Grant to promote Sri Lankan Tea across 12 markets. The campaign is expected to create awareness of the Ceylon Tea brand, particularly among the younger generation and to differentiate the authentic Ceylon Tea product, which would help Ceylon Tea re-position itself as a top brand, among quality tea drinkers.

Even though there are many criticisms on target markets and the strategy, the campaign has now begun. If you have a great product, it’s easier to market. Ceylon Tea is product like that.
