Virtual Tea Tasting With Tea Sommelier – February Session: It’s Free !

Tea is the most popular beverage in the world after water. But still education plays a vital role in the field of tea marketing. It’s a medium / long term process. Other beverage industries like Coffee, Wine etc are way in-front of tea when it comes to education. Enjoying a cup of tea for most of us is a daily pleasure, but there is mounting scientific evidence about tea’s positive health attributes. By the mean time, If you’re interested in tea, you have the opportunity to join Marvonnay‘s Virtual Tea Tasting With Tea Sommelier – February Session for free. For over 1 hour, Marvonnay will share their experience by covering Tea basics, 1 Tea Region and 2 Teas.

This session will also cover other related topics like Food Pairings and Tea Travel. By the end of the 1 hour, you’ll discover your palate, meet some new people and perhaps join Marvonnay for the full Tea experience.

To prepare for the session, The organizer recommends to come with at least one loose-leaf, non-blended and unflavoured tea from any of the following tea types:

1. White – White Needle (aka Silver Needle or Bai Hao Yin Zhen)

2. Green – Any green (Chinese or Japanese)

3. Oolong – Any oolong (Chinese or Taiwanese)

4. Black – Ceylon, Assam, any other Indian or African black

5. Pur’erh – Any cooked Pu’erh

If you prepare a few different types, you will have the opportunity to compare their sensory characteristics during session.

The organizer will provide you tea preparation instruction during the class, during which you can follow along and steep your tea on the spot. If you wish to do so, get ready with the following handy when you are attending the session:

1. Teapot for steeping the tea and a white (or clear) cup to observe the liquor (tea liquid)

2. 1 tea spoon (about 2g) of each tea

3. 6 oz. (0.75 cup) of hot water per tea – Use water that is slightly below boiling (80-85°C/ 175-185 °F) for White, Green and Oolong; and boiling water (100°C/ 212 °F) for Black and Pu’erh
